White Rock Engagement | Alex and Andrew

White Rock Engagement

Alexandra and Andrew met at a friend’s birthday party playing board games, and from there they connected over everything nerdy. As they grew closer as friends, it became apparent to them that they had a connection on a much deeper level. It wasn’t long before their friends and family were calling them an “old married couple.” They are each other’s best friends and biggest fans.

First Impressions (+ my unsolicited but bet you’ll find helpful sort of advice to future brides and grooms)

When I first got to know Alex and Andrew, I asked about their initial impressions of each other. They remember it clearly. I thought that their description of each other was so sweet that I want to share it here. It just goes to show how much they appreciate each other and the love that they share.

Alex: When I first started talking to Andrew, I found that he was kind, warm, compassionate, and empathetic. Almost immediately, I knew I wanted him in my life. He was genuinely interested in getting to know more about me. He just kept asking questions, so much so that I wasn’t able to get to know him until later that first evening we met.

Vivian: Just inserting some golden advice here to my grooms out there – Keep asking your girl questions! Listen to her even when she rambles on. Keep getting to know her heart! This shouldn’t change after marriage. She will continue to feel loved by you!

Andrew: At the beginning, it was so easy, there was no awkwardness that you might expect from meeting a new person who you find beautiful, quick-witted, easy to laugh. I was watching her laughing and chatting with a mutual friend. At that moment, she was quick to laugh and smile, she lit up the room. We clicked very well on the first date, cracking jokes together. I knew from day one that I want to marry her.

Vivian: Just inserting some golden advice here to my brides out there – Keep smiling at your man. Laugh at his jokes, even if they are lame. I’ve heard so many grooms tell me this is something they love about their girl. So, if you can do this, you will make them feel special, and they will love you for being supportive and appreciating them for who they are! I must say, I’m still learning this myself!

Something Special

As a very sentimental couple, they have kept a memory box full of knickknacks and reminders of important days and events in their years together. Their proposal was nothing short of the same kind of special. When Andrew proposed, he planned out a “greatest hits” weekend where they visited places that hold great importance to them. When I asked what was important to them when planning their wedding together, they said it was that they honor their history together while celebrating their future, and that having a photographer who would be supportive of that goal would be absolutely incredible. Um, that is an incredible goal so oh heck yes of course I’d support that 100%!

White Rock Engagement

Now White Rock Pier is a special place for Alexandra and Andrew. It’s where they loved taking walks together. So when it came time to choosing a location for their engagement photos, it was a no-brainer that White Rock Pier was to be the place for these special moments. I think it’s apt to say that these engagement photographs celebrate their history AND future together. Alex and Andrew, make sure you include a few of these in your memory box!
