Queen Elizabeth Park Engagement | Emily and Terry

While some guys would buy flowers and chocolates for their girl, he knew that these were not things that will ultimately bring joy to his girl. What he did, instead, won her over: little things like buying her coffee (and remembering the details of her usual orders) when she’s tired from studying all night, going grocery shopping or cleaning the washroom even though she never asked him to, spending quality time with her, and loving her through service as well as words of affirmation. While Terry was selfless and kind, Emily was cheerful and supportive. In their relationship, they’re there for each other. In Emily’s words, when they are together, they’re a team.

The Proposal:

One day on a cruise to Alaska, Terry planned an excursion and a dinner, brought her to a comedy show, after which they both went to look for the Northern Lights. While Emily searched for the lights, Terry asked her to look at him instead. He had put together a poem, which ended with, “Will you marry me?” That was the only line she remembers. Of course, she said yes! Terry had made a point to find a private area and had asked the cruise to block it off for them. And with that, they were engaged!

Engagement photos at Queen Elizabeth Park, and a Note to my Sweet Couple

I had the honor of capturing their relationship and creating these special memories for them on a lovely Spring evening during their engagement session at Queen Elizabeth Park. Even though we only found one tree with some blossoms at the time, I think the highlight really was just seeing these two lovebirds interacting with each other. I loved the giggles, the laughter, and the sweet kisses. It was perfect.

Emily and Terry, I had a blast with you two at the engagement session. You were both awesome! I’m excited that you two are getting married and from the bottom of my heart, I pray that your relationship will flourish and blossom and that your upcoming marriage will be absolutely beautiful.
