Lake Como Photographer

Italy is one of my favourite destinations, and there’s something truly magical about Lake Como—especially Bellagio. Known as the “Pearl of Lake Como,” it’s famous for its romantic, winding cobblestone streets, colorful buildings with green shutters, and cascading ivy-covered walls. I love the peaceful early mornings there… The town is still quiet, the lake gently laps against the shore, and the streets feel like they belong to another time. A perfect place to celebrate lovers, shooting portraits, stories, and engagement sessions at Lake Como is truly one of a kind.

Bellagio

One of the most photogenic spots in Bellagio is its sloping, stone-paved streets lined with quaint boutiques, cozy cafés, and vibrant flower pots spilling over wrought-iron balconies. In the soft morning light, the town takes on a dreamy, cinematic feel—perfect for capturing the stories of lovers.

Just a Photographer at Lake Como

I had the absolute joy of photographing Abigail and Tyler in this breathtaking setting. Everything about it felt like a dream. We were able to align our travels, and I took the opportunity to explore Lake Como the day before, scouting out the most picturesque locations for their portraits. Wandering through the narrow alleys and discovering hidden corners with stunning views was such a fun experience. It’s always exciting to see a place for the first time through the lens of possibility.

Portrait / Engagement Session at Lake Como

The next morning, I woke at sunrise and met up with Abi and Tyler when the air was crisp and the streets were still relatively empty. Abi and Tyler were effortlessly elegant, completely at ease with each other, and their connection was so natural and joyful.

We began at one of the town’s most photogenic spots: a long, sloping stone staircase that offers a stunning view of the lake and mountains. The pastel-colored buildings on either side, framed by lush greenery, created a dreamy, timeless atmosphere. Every spot we stopped at had its own charm. It was incredible to see how the beauty of Lake Como complemented their effortless chemistry.

One of my favorite moments was when Abi and Tyler danced. As she moved, swiftly, the fabric of her flowy dress and her beautiful locks of ginger hair caught the breeze. It was such a simple, spontaneous movement, but it reflected the pure happiness of the day. It was the kind of moment that makes engagement and prewedding sessions and even postwedding sessions feel so meaningful.

Looking back at this session, I’m reminded of how important it is to not just capture beautiful portraits, but to create an experience… An experience that is a true reflection of a couple’s love and the adventure they’re on together. Lake Como, with all its beauty and romance, was the perfect place for Abi and Tyler to celebrate their amazing connection, and I’m so grateful to have been a part of it.
