Love is Patient, Love is Kind to Ann and Sam
On the day of their wedding, one could feel the warmth of blessings washing over Ann, Sam, and their families. A haze of wildfire smoke blanketed their union too that day, but their love shone through the smokiness with radiance and strength. A little nose kiss for those cute hedgehogs to start their special day!
Ann and Sam’s special day began with a traditional Chinese wedding tea ceremony at home, enjoyed by the couple and their family members. Our beautiful bride was adorned in an ornate red dress, our dapper groom in a delicate blue suit and bowtie. Their bridesmaids wore soft pink accentuated in the groomsmen’s bowties and boutonnières. Symbols of double happiness embraced the room, laying favour on the day. The joy for this union celebrated in the faces of their parents who held their children in love.
Before their wedding ceremony at the Burnaby Alliance Church with guests, Ann and Sam walked Lafarge Lake in Coquitlam with family and friends, which provided the perfect opportunity for both family portraits, wedding party portraits, as well as bride and groom portraits! I’m so fortunate to have worked in such picturesque settings with this sweet couple! Soft flowers played audience to their embraces, and trees lined their path, as they stepped forward as husband and wife together.
The time then came to unite Ann and Sam in marriage, choosing Burnaby Alliance Church to hold sacred and confirm this union before God, family and friends. Ann and Sam felt blessed and loved being able to share this once in a lifetime moment with their loved ones! Their ceremony was beautiful, filled with emotion, excitement, and gratitude. Song filled the sanctuary: “All I have needed Thy hand hath provide —Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me! Summer and winter and springtime and harvest, Sun, moon, and stars in their courses above. Join with all nature in manifold witness to Thy great faithfulness, mercy, and love.” Following an encouraging message of wisdom and admonition from their pastor, they had a kiss of union before the cross.
After their wedding ceremony, we ventured to Deer Lake in Burnaby for more portraits. Even though the smog was heavy, we were able to capture some beautiful moments of these two sweethearts together! Their smiles and love for one another have overcome both COVID and unexpected weather conditions!
Ann and Sam, thank you for sharing this small piece of your journey with me, and may God bless you, all of your days.
With Love,
Your photographer Vivian
