Intimate backyard weddings can be so beautiful, especially in a floral garden surrounded by love and fairy magic. Corinne and Ian celebrated their wedding day in their picturesque backyard in West Vancouver, British Columbia. Their wedding photos show their love and sheer delight to be in the moment together.
Their families joined in person as well as remotely to share their special day. Ella, Corinne’s daughter, a delicate garden fairy, walked the aisle ahead of her aunty, Corinne’s sister and Maid of Honor. After them, the radiant Corinne started down the aisle, beloved father at her side.
Corinne’s dress was refined elegance and her beauty in it caught Ian’s breath. He could not stop grinning from ear to ear, as he waited to embrace her presence at the alter. A gorgeous wedding arch adorned with vibrant garden flowers framed the backdrop behind them, as they started their ceremony.
Sentimental Heirlooms
They shared their vows for each other and their family, and exchanged heirloom wedding rings: Corinne’s belonging to Ian’s great grandmother, and Ian’s once belonging to his grandfather. Another heirloom, something borrowed, was Corinne’s veil. Ian’s grandmother, mother, and sister all wore that same veil at their weddings. A beautiful tribute, welcoming Corinne to their family. Ian and Corinne kissed for the first time as husband and wife, a new page turned in their love story.
A Romantic Reception
All around them, their theme, Disco Rosé, decorated each frame, a memento of how they met at the Cornucopia Wine Festival in Whistler. Rose gold disco balls hung from branches, reflecting darts of light which danced across the wooden fence of the yard. As day turned to night, the evening festivities began. Rose gold and hints of blue accent tables were decorated with vases of fresh flower sprigs. Each splashed cascades of color against an already captivating garden setting.
Teary eyed, wide-smile speeches made way for an elegant and enticing dinner. The cake could only be described as polished splendor, with florals to match each of the gorgeous vases embellishing the tables. A few more toasts introduced dancing under a crown of fairy lights, Ian holding his bride close. The celebrations continued into the night, while little Ella was soundly asleep in her bed (a perk of having a wedding so close to home). As the night settled to a close, family and friends blessed them as they danced through a magical sparklers tunnel. For the moment Ella’s Faerie Garden is the place to be as we open a new chapter for Corinne, Ian and their family.
Lots of love and blessings, Ian and Corinne! I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you all. May you have happy anniversaries to come with each other.
